Bring it On 2021 will take place on 4th November 2021 to coincide with the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26). Themed ‘Net Zero North East – Engineering your future’ the event will focus on the contribution North East engineers are making towards tackling climate change.
We are hosting a free, online event which pupils will be able to take part in from their classrooms Net Zero North East: Engineering YOUR Future The Event will feature live and recorded input from local engineering companies.
Guided by our founding principles, the event will be focused on North East pupils aged 9-14 and exclusively feature North East based engineering companies.
The day will include challenges set by engineering companies for you to take part in on the day from your classroom, live interaction via an online host, school group site visits to some of our NE engineering companies, and even some local engineer ‘secret agent’ visits into schools (Government guidelines dependent)!
Our North East Companies will provide a variety of challenges with links to the curriculum for you to pick from on the day. These will cover a range of topics requiring a range of skills. They can be anything from a simple paper design challenge, Building Models to digital AR challenges. The one thing they will have in common is a focus on sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.
Ultimately this is an online event with the aim of engaging and inspiring our North East students. We know how great our North East engineering companies are; let’s make sure we show the young people of our region that too!
We are currently working on the full agenda and confirming the finer details for the online programme on 4th November 2021. If you would like to find out more about how your school can get involved in the day please get in touch.
